Kid-Cast.Com Summer Readings

Kid-cast.com would love to have some parents, kids, teachers, or anyone willing to participate, read some stories, books or even a quick couple of poems during the summer months.

We're looking to your talents to get us some interesting stuff to 'cast during the summer months. There's lots of great podcasting to do, but we think some fun excerpts of favorite topics or books might be great, too. Maybe you can tell us about your favorite book series, or what games you like to play during the summer months. How about some tips on how to surf or boogie-board? Maybe you have some terrific places you like to ride your bike or fun educational places to visit. Tell us all of your great summer fun ideas!

We can't wait to hear from you!

To get started, make sure you sign-up on our site so you can post your 'cast for review and we'll be happy to post it (so long as it meets our criteria).

Have a great summer and help us keep Kid-Cast.COM just as active as you, all summer long!

  • Any Way You Want It- Vickie (oops, I mean V-Dog) and Kara have two special guests on this segment. You'll get a taste for brownies and puppy chow after listening. Here's Tori's brownie recipe. Give it a try.
4 square (1 ounce each) unsweetened chocolate
    2/3 cup shortening
    2 cups sugar
    4 eggs
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
    ¾ cup chocolate chips (optional)
Heat oven to 350°. Grease rectangular baking pan,13x9X2 inches. Heat chocolate and shortening in 3-quart saucepan over low heat until melted; remove from heat. Stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla. Mix in remaining ingredients. Spread in pan. Bake until brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the pan, about 30 minutes. (Do not overbake.) Cool completely; cut into bars, about 2 X 1 ½ inches. Frost or sprinkle with powdered sugar. Makes about 3 dozen; 140 calories each.

Well, that's it. Have an awesome summer, and tune in next fall to see what becomes of the Greypevine. We'll keep you posted on how things will change next year. Thanks for listening!
